AzPANA scholarships are reimbursement of money from AzPANA to its members, and various types of scholarships are available:
- $175 toward CPAN or CAPA certification exam fee
- $125 toward CPAN or CAPA recertification fee
- Up to $ 500.00 for professional education programs or for continuing nursing education related to pursuit of a degree
- Funding to ASPAN National Conference as an AzPANA Delegate
To apply, an applicant must be an active member of AzPANA for two consecutive years prior to the application date.
Scholarships are awarded based on a point system. Points can be earned as soon as you become a member and are good for three years. That is, only the points earned in the three consecutive years prior to the application date will be considered. A minimum of 8 points are required to be considered for a scholarship.
Points can be earned by being CPAN or CAPA certified, recruiting new members, serving on the board of directors, assisting a board member or committee chair, attending educational seminars, attending National Conference, providing a raffle item for AzPANA seminar, writing for the AzPANA or ASPAN newsletter and several more ways.
Scholarships are one way that AzPANA gives something back to the members and this year more than $5000 is budgeted for scholarship benefits. Don't let the money just sit in AzPANA's bank account! Take the time to review the application and the point system and then apply for a scholarship. If you have ideas to improve the process or make it easier for members to qualify, please share your thoughts with members of the AzPANA Board of Directors.
The next deadline for AzPANA scholarship applications is January 31, 2011.
This deadline applies to scholarship applications for members certifying/recertifying in Nov. 2010 or applying for a scholarship to attend the ASPAN National Conference, April 2011. For more information or help with your questions, please contact the AzPANA scholarship coordinator
