Greetings AzPANA Members,
The Arizona PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association would like to commend you and recognize the awesome job that you do each day as a perianesthesia nurse. This year, PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week (PANAW) will be celebrated by nurses in our specialty practice throughout the country the week of February 3 – 9, 2020. The theme this year will be “PeriAnesthesia Nurses Strength in Knowledge”. The American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (ASPAN), along with local components from all over the United States, will acknowledge all nurses practicing perianesthesia nursing.
Attached to this letter is a coupon for 2 scholarship points. This is AzPANA’s gift to each of our members as we celebrate our unique nursing specialty. Scholarship points can be used towards a scholarship award to attend the ASPAN National Conference in Denver this coming April, for financial assistance with certification or recertification, and educational opportunities. Also, on June 6, 2020, AzPANA will be hosting an all-day conference at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale, AZ. For additional information on scholarships or on educational seminars offered by AzPANA, please visit our website at www.azpana.org.
The dedication of our board of directors, committee chairs, and members who volunteer their time continues to enable our component to be one of the premier components of ASPAN. Your knowledge and expertise are a valuable resource to our component. Consider contributing your talents towards keeping our component strong and filling out a Willingness to Participate form which can also be found AzPANA’s website.
Congratulations and thank you for your commitment to our organization and your dedication to providing the best in nursing care to our patients. We are all caring every step of the way.
Mary Kay Avina, RN, BSN, CAPA (ret)
President, Arizona PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association
